After completing this analysis, I have a greater understanding of Indie/Folk music videos. Although I could see that a strong story line was key in the music video 'Cocoon', doing extra research has confirmed that this is an important concept to consider. I have learnt that this type of genre tends to take a more narrative approach as it incorporates relevant visual images to help explain the meaning of the lyrics. This particular music video successfully re-tells the story of Cupid and has been adapted to fit the purpose of the song. I believe that this video is effective as the storyline entices the audience and continues to build enigma throughout.
This has influenced by decisions on turning a well know classic story into a modern adaptation for my own music video. I believe that this will fit well for my genre and keep my audience entertained throughout.
